SketchBook Pro, also referred to as SketchBook, is a pixel graphics software application that features a radial/pie-menu user interface, intended for expressive drawing and concept sketching. It was originally developed by Alias Systems Corporation, but is now owned by Autodesk.

SketchBook Pro has painting and drawing tools such as pencils, markers, and brushes. It uses pressure-sensitive features of graphics tablets, tablet computers, and smartphones to create effects similar to traditional materials.

Autodesk SketchBook Pro software also features a screenshot tool for annotation, allowing one to show content during a meeting and add notes as the content is reviewed. The previous/next buttons make it possible to create flipbooks or animations. The program supports layers with import and export of Photoshop (.psd) format. Other features include rulers, symmetry, the ability to customize brushes, create texture brushes, and rotate the canvas.

Versions:

When Autodesk acquired Alias in October 2005, they discontinued Sketchbook Pro development for a time. Version 2.0 was released in July 2005, under Alias Systems Corporation.

A beta version of version 3.0 was shown at MacWorld 2008 on display with the Axiotron Modbook. On April 2008, Autodesk SketchBook Pro 2009 was released to the public. In April 2009, the latest version was released, Autodesk SketchBook Pro 2010. Autodesk continues to have a beta program for testing new versions of SketchBook Pro.

SketchBook Express is a consumer version of the SketchBook Pro. Express provides much of the same functionality as Autodesk SketchBook Pro, but does not include custom brush textures (imported or drawn), layer controls, symmetric brushes or guide lines. Earlier versions of Express could not save layers. Versions 5.5 and later, however, do allow the preservation of layers.

On September 17, 2009, Autodesk released SketchBook Mobile specifically designed for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. Built with the same paint engine as Pro, Mobile and its free version Mobile Express offers many of the same design features seen in the desktop application. On November 30, 2010, Autodesk released Android versions of SketchBook Mobile and SketchBook Express.

In August 2012, AutoDesk released SketchBook Pro 6, marking a return to conventional version numbering. Throughout May 2014 another new version of Sketchbook Pro was teased on the software application's website, referred to as SketchBook Pro 2015.

In August 2014, AutoDesk released SketchBook 7, introducing the current subscription model. In May 2017, AutoDesk released SketchBook 4.0 for iOS devices. Primary new features included two-hand workflow, improved quick-access toolbar, and an improved rendering engine.

In April 2018, AutoDesk made SketchBook a free software
